unanswered questions: psalm 35

Unanswered questions
Torment me at night.
Did you think your child could handle this?
What gives you the right?

Do I push?
Do I pull?

Good going.
Now your little girl is crying.

The arguing, screaming,
"Dad, it isn't fair."
I know. I know.
I've been there.

Yet I've learned you have to nearly break,
Before you'll learn to bend.
You need to learn to crawl,
Before you're ready to make your stand.

My precious, darling daughter,
I want to hold your hand.
